Hi all,

Just done the gearbox on my IIa as a result of a ****e quality bearing that was put in 2 years ago. This time I have done all the bearings and went for OEM - FAG, SKF and Timken.
Anyhow, the gear box now feels really nice but the clutch was difficult to adjust. On checking the mechanism, I notice that the shaft which goes from the slave cylinder to the little connecting cylinder on the outside of the bell housing was moving about inside its bush. Sausage and buckets spring to mind. It is therefore time to replace the bush and shaft. I haven't taken the old one out yet but do you know if the bush needs reaming or is it just a bolt on item?

Being a machinest i took the old shaft out and turned down the end, I then made a new bearing to suit. I didnt find a new one, but then i didnt look very hard
Think your best bet might be to have a look on craddocks if your after a new blot on job

dont forget you need to keep relative position of internal fork and outer hole in shaft

The internal bits are done so the fork and shaft are in the right position. I.e setting the hole inline with the shaft with the thrust washer out by 7/16 of an inch.
Its the other end. Out side the bell housing. The shaft comes out of the clutch release housing then goes into a tube with two clevis pins in it. The shaft I am refering to is the one that come out of the tube thrugh a bracke and bolts on to the slave cylinder ( via a welded on lever).
