Good evening people,

I have a clunk when taking up drive and my propshafts are fine. If i drive it very nicely its smooth so i just drive like my dad (slow and smooth).

I also noticed a 'different' noise earlier when i started her up, in neutral, clutch pedal down and door open. I lifted my foot off the clutch (still in neutral) and there is a definate higher pitched knock coming from underneath which then stops when i put my foot back on the clutch.
Also, the clutch pedal is quite hard.

Clutch? gearbox? thrust bearing?

Advice would be great

Thanks

the clunk when taking up the drive could be yer A frame ball joint.
sounds like yer clutch might be gittin tired as well.

Cool, i'll get my local 4x4 garage to have a look at the clutch.
Sorry if this sounds silly but i've no idea what an a frame ball joint is! Where is it? can i check whether its dodgy? Is replacing it a big job?

there's a triangular bracing strut attaching the top of yer back axle to the chassis. the ball joint is where it attaches to the axle.
you can check it by getting a pry bar between the axle and the A frame and seeing if there's free play (but don't damage the brake pipes doing it).
it's not hard or expensive to replace it.
