Im torn between the power of the V8, or the economy of a diesel, but cant decide what to do.

The disco has a 3.9 v8 in there at the moment, but i am very tempted to swap the engine to a TD,

What do you guys think?

If you want a diesel, sell the V8 and get one. It's not worth the hassle swapping engines and looms etc. I'd lpg the V8, it would be cheaper to run than the diesel. Plus the V8 sounds great!!!

wow i would not have thought that an lpg conversion would have been cheaper than the diesel version, and yes the v8 does sound great

A friend of mine has got an s reg V8, and didn't want to part with it as he isn't keen on the later ones, so he had it converted. He reckons it's as cheap to run as his VW passat, and you get the power and that lovely sound. When my tdi gives up, it a range rover or one of the late series 1 disco V8s on gas for me.

But he could add TURBO instead of V8
