Hi all

Thinking of turning the rear axle on my 90 to a dislocating.

Is it worth it?

What's it going to cost me and what mods do i need to do??

Cheers

So what you actually meant to say was how can I increase my axle articulation. in which case the answer is buy a liftkit. & relocation cones.

The more lift you have the more articulation you'll get, obviously once you go extreme you need. Cranked arms, double cardon props, relocation cones, extended brakelines, you can fit lowered spring turrets jsut google landrover extreme lift kit. and or visit a few 4x4 parts suppliers. Hope you've got deep pockets though.

you be hard pushed to dislocate on standard trailing arms and A frame ball joint. even with 2" lift. cranked arms and a modified ball joint will get you going, take a look at x eng, i think they do the joint and llama 4x4 do the sussy stuff.

ooooo its all interesting stuff theirs little old me thinking of just putting relocation cones on the rear....

then i will need diff lockers!!!

the prob with things dislocating is that you only have the weight of the axle with which to gain traction, not the whole land rover. X eng do the Xspring which doesnt dislo like standard, but uses another spring and helps transfer the weight to the axle, giving better traction... does that make sense? take a look at their website.
