Mines a 96 300tdi XS with a manual box. Out of a 90 litre tank I get between 500-550 miles. Fuel consumption is worse on the motorway at a 80mph cruise than it is pottering around town.

i aint known a 300tdi do more than 24ish,allways guessed bout 22mpg or so.Cornish miles mind.

Just worked out my average MPG in the Disco.
90 litre tank, (or 89.7 to be pedantic), so thats 18 gallons. Range = lets say 525 miles.
Thats 29.17 MPG.

guess i had a heavy foot.Well i get 55.7p a litre now at 17mpg so i win and i go fast everywhere!

I've just got meself another disco, admittedly it's a 200 not a 300, so I've been checking the fuel consumption over the first few fill ups. Last tankful was used up over a range of road driving from motorway to round town and daily commutes to work. I haven't taken it easy as to be honest the thing goes so well it encourages me to go fairly swiftly. The last tankful worked out at 32mpg. It's on poxy little 205 tyres at the moment and I'll be putting my 265/75 muds on tomorrow so I'll keep an eye on the fuel consumption over the next couple of weeks but I don't expect to see much change.
