Hi I'm new to this forum and I am hoping someone can help. When driving at abit of speed I can hear trickling water coming from somewhere at the front of the car, it's hard for me to explain in writing what it sounds like. When car is running and not moving you cannot hear this sound as soon as you move off and go into 2nd gear the noise starts. I have ruled out any leaks as all sunroofs have been sealed and she does not smell damp at all.. any suggestions? And also my steering wheel has become heavier then normal but no lights have appeared and all belts are working as they should? Many Thanks :)

Considering that trickling sound is only heard when you go into second gear, isn't it possible that it could be a mechanical sound from somewhere around the running gear that is been transmitted through the insulation as that trickling sound that you hear? You would assume a leak would persist regardless of the gear you're in. By the way, you should check if you're not loosing coolant just in case what you're hearing is your heater matrix leaking behind the dash.

Yeah could well be, thanks. All heaters and air con are working as they should, no smells and when they are turned off no air or heat comes out so that's why I maybe crossed of the heater matrix, but that is where the sound is roughly coming from around that sort of area, and the steering has gone very heavy but again no lights or anything has appeared. Thanks for replies

As JamesMartin insinuated earlier, your heavy steering could be down to low PAS oil in the reservoir.
Check the level, top off as necessary and check for leaks if any. If levels all good, then your pump may just have given up.
However, when my steering got heavy a few years back, it turned out to be the two axle swivel ball joints on the left that had completely disintegrated to the point where there was audible noise when steering. New ball joints and a lot of sweating and swearing later, and steering was all good.

Brilliant thank you, yup have checked levels and all good so am now thinking it's ref the ball joints as you have said, as this evening I noticed a noise when steering, got warrenty on the vechile so have the garage sort both issues just wanted to have an idea so I can tell them what they should look at, as been usless so far. Thanks for your help, very appreciated.
