Hi,
I've searched and found some threads re this issue but all seem to relate to the slightly later Defender 90 to my 1989 Model 90.
Will the Castor Alloys fit on early 90 without spacers?

Also, how is the 89 model 90 referred to - is it a Defender or a Series 3 - or is it some sort of hybrid? The posts I've seen seem to make a distinction and my 90 is in no mans land! Or is it....?

Any assistance much appreciated.

A Series 3 is a Series 3.
A Defender is a Defender.
A pre-Defender 90 is a Ninety however many people (incorrectly) refer to anything post Series as a Defender.

We are just finding out our 89 90, needs spacers at the front to fit alloys or wheels dressing and new hub bolts. We have taken the spacer route

Ok thanks - They look similar (Ninety and Defender) but what are the significant differences from an 1989 Ninety and a 1990 Defender please? Is it just interior trim and engine or are there driveline or suspension differences. Is a Ninety more like a 3 series mechanically or a Defender?

not until you get to 300tdi models do you get the thinner hubs that will take all alloys without spacers etc

Became a defender when the 200tdi was fitted i believe, nope pretty similar to a defender except for the stickers on the side and the engine.series have leaf springs, not coils.
