As long as the cooling is tip top they brilliant. like most cars they have niggles but joinning this place was the best thing to do.......my v8 disco was the most reliable car i owned.:)

sound nice and they can pull some. just carry a trade can of WD40 with you;):D:D
 
by nature of the ali block and head plus the size of the lump they produce a fair amount of heat that can be a bit alarming to a new-comer. I change my antifreeze every year and also keep an eye on the rads, stat and hoses . do that and you will be fine.:)
 
I've had my D2 V8 for little over a year now and I wouldnt want to go back to a diesel now.
 
I had a Range Rover with the V8, sounds good, pulls well, never had any problems, but cost a fortune in fuel. Hence why anything with a V8 is far cheaper than a diesel, unless you've got deep pockets or dont intend to use it on a daily basis, personaly I would avoid it.
