I might try this when I come to this bit, but then again as I have my new bulkhead sitting out at the moment I can mod it, weld it and repaint it all.

thanks all for your recommendations it doesnt sound/look as hard as i first thought, just ordered the steve parker downpipe should be here next week so i'll crack on with it then, again appreciate the replies

p.s if anybody is interested i have a g reg disco for spares and a PTO driven "superwinch" winch and bumper for defender for sale. drop me a line if your bothered, cheers

if i were you i would put the disco transfer box and rear axle on as well...gives u slightly higher gear ratios in high so u have more top end, plus rear axle will give u discs all round
