does anyone know the best way to unblock the sunroof drain pipes. iv dropped the front part of the roof lining to see if anything had come off or cracked and to see if the sunroof seals are leaking ect. before noticing the passanger side pipe isnt draining.

I've read that a 5 foot length of net curtain wire will do the job for you, however, you may find it a bit tricky to get "in the hole"! However, if you have enough spare tube, then I found the best way to get the tubes off was to cut lengthways with a sharp knife to release the end, then you can push whatever you like down the tube. Once you are sure it's clear then just cut the end flush, heat the tube a little to make it more flexible, and then push it back on.

I would recommend that whilst you have the head lining dropped you use a tube of sealant to reseal the sunroof back in. It is easy to do, and once you find the 3mm bead of sealant that Landrover originally applied you'll understand why your sunroof leaks:eek:

As the chief doc above, u only need drains if u open the sunroof with rain drops on it and who does that, as the roof tilts the water will run off into the side channel and exit via the drains thats why they are at the front.
Drains don't cause the sunroofs leaks but iffy seals doand you have two.

I've done a simple fix

4 inch wide insulation tape, seal the lot and remove in summer if its dry

Only take 5 mins to tape them up again if its gonna rain for a few weeks

well what noticed is the water goes under the rubber seal and finds its way in , to solve this is i removed the rubber seal from the base , cleaned it very well and apply a bead of clear silicone and replace the rubber seal and close the sunroof to keep it snug while it dries . this has fixed the leak and the roof can still be opened
