Hi. Can anyone help me. My wifes disco 2 v8 had a misfire which bought on the engine warning lamp. I have fixed the problem, the warning light hasn't reset itself, and the gearbox is changing gear at 4000rpm when in kickdown. Is this a strategy the gearbox ecu adopts when there is an engine warning light is on, and if so will it revert to normal when the engine light resets? In sport mode the gearbox changes at 5000 rpm, which is still a bit low. Does anyone know the answers?

get it on a diagnostic and clear the fault.

5000 rpm is enough for a v8! they don't rev much higher

Thanks for that T1g UP. Bit of an update. The engine warning light has reset itself, on the V8 if the fault is not there for a number of consecutive starts, the warning lights reset. I will get the fault log cleared however. Update on the gearbox, turns out that I had not put the cable bracket on back exactly where it came from, slight 'adjustment' has returned the full 5000rpm change point. Sounds good, no real action though!
