The indicators don't flash when I activate or de activiate the alarm.

I've not had this problem myself, but have read in another forum that it's an 'indication' that the battery in the fob is low on power and it's time to replace it. Try it and see

I replaced the batteries in the original keyfob when I bought the car and they still didn't flash. Had to replace the original keyfob a couple of years back and they still didn't flash. Only time I got them to flash was two weeks back when I had problems with the fusible links providing power to the heater. Fixed the heater problem and the flash on arm/dis arm ceased.
