Yea it's still on the road taxed and mot'd just a shame we cant trace back where it is really. You can check its mot history to see where its been done, but you cant trace the owner from the dvla unless you have certain legal grounds to do so. A member of the public cannot for example
The test centre location can only be found via the MOT history site if the the V5C number from the latest log book is entered. You can check its mot history to see where its been done, but you cant trace the owner from the dvla unless you have certain legal grounds to do so. Well, if you knew then number it would mean you were either working for the DVLA or you have the V5C, or wrote then number down when you sold it.The test centre location can only be found via the MOT history site if the the V5C number from the latest log book is entered.
So how does a previous owner obtain that ?
Never knew they changed it, kinda thort it went with the vehicle. I bow to your superior knowledge! So the point of noting the V5C number before you sell the vehicle is? The new owner will receive a new V5C on change of ownership complete with a new number.
Hence DVLA requiring the V5C number from the ‘latest log book’ as I stated above, which, other then the authorities only the vehicles present owner would have.
