coming home from work yesterday my discovery started to stall when i braked or was at traffic lights. Today i got in and it startes and revs in neutral but when i put it into drive it nearly dies and goes about 5 mph on full throttle anyone got any ideas? its a 1996 discovery auto thankyou.

Sounds like the gearbox/tourque converter to me. First thing i would try is changing the transmission oil and changing the filter. I'm sure one of the more experienced guys will be along soon with some more advice. Good luck!!

if a fluid and filter change dunt do it, it might be fuel starvation caused by a partiallly blocked filter or the like. it could be letting enough fuel through for tickovva and off load revving but not enough to produce any power for forward propulsion. but ah think the rht hon boss has it right wiff the old fluid change

just to let you know it had a leak in fuel pipe and was drawing in air and it dont run on air
