Hi. A friend of mine decided to pull half the motor apart before I owned the disco. It's now up and running, kind of. I guessed which wire went where on the alternator but I've got it wrong. My rev counter now doesn't work too. I have a cable I can't figure out where it goes, it's a white 5 amp or so wire with a male spade connecter on the end but can't see where it connects to. Anyone help me out here? I got a thick brown wire, a more skinny brown wire, white skinny and the one with the spade connecter. Also that black box one. Thanks

thick brown b+ thin brown/yellow d+ white/grey w+ black one is usually suppressor wire

5 amp small white one is your rev counter. should be a spade connector bot sure about the others. sorry.

Thanks guys. 90% sure the wires are correct it was mainly the spade connection. I'll have another look.

Spade should go into a female spade attached to a 'black box thingy'. Then as James says...

Thanks discomark88. I had a second look and found the black box thingy. It was in the scuttle tray.. Now have 2 black box things. Still not 100% sure which wire should go on what thread. Rev counter still doesn't work and I know it's not a faulty rev counter

thick brown wire coming from battery goes to thickest thread marked with B+, think it's 10mm nut? thinner yellowy wire is for warning light n should go on a thinner thread marked with a D+ n it's on a plastic triangular thing. n grey/white one should have a hoop on which goes to last post marked with W, and the spade as said before, with the box bolted to one of the bolts holding case together. if u dont know now, i give up!
