Hi guys,

When ever I fill my Disco to fill it starts leaking diesel when I drive. To the point there is a puddle on my drive and diesel all over the back window and spare wheel cover etc.

This only happens when full and I never over fill as always stop before the pump clicks

Why does my jeep do this??

Thank you :) x

Land Rovers leak, Jeeps should be burned
but having said that, they shouldn't leak fuel
tis dangerous, Jeeps should always be burned

Where is the leak ?
Near the tank / filler or at the front near the pump / filter ?

Land Rovers are designed to run on empty. Fill one up and it will spack out and spit **** everywhere.

Fill a jeep up and.......er......maybe someone will have proper strong words with you as to why you have spent actual money on a jeep!

The leak is at the back under the rear passenger seats. There are a few leaks like one the car is parked it drips in 3 different areas :(

I'm guessing it's a td5? The fuel pump seal and ring are the likely fault. The seal often gets kinked or trapped and the ring is often cross threaded. It's worth replacing the seal and then re-fitting the ring.

Yes, that cured mine too. To get a complete seal though I tend to find a little gasket seal on the rubbery ring helps a lot.
Also, if it's a TD5, sometimes the push fit clip-on pipe connectors weep a little. Taking them off and re-seating them can sometimes help, especially if they've been under some strain or tension from poorly positioned pipes.

Thank you all for your replies :) I shall look into it :) the car needs so much done at the moment! Thank god it's a good tow vehicle!!!!

You've got the advantage over us defender drivers, as the Disco comes with a little hatch in the boot floor specifically for getting at the fuel pump. We've got to either cut a hole in the load bed or take the tank out from underneath. This is just minor tinkering. Wait 'til you blow a head gasket, then it will really start getting interesting.

Just pulled up and disco is leaking fuel its half full so not over full xx
