Sticking a 4.6 V8 in my def 90. Was originally a 2.5TD. I'm looking at the puny driveshaft that's on it at the mo. there is a V8 disco 1 being broke near me. Would the shafts fit and would I gain anything by fitting them.

I'm pretty sure they're all the same width apart from the salisbury one which is a lot thicker, having said that odds are the disco is going to be a 3.5 or 3.9 anyway so the shafts will be the same size as the TDI ones from what I've seen.

So I could just get a pair of 300tdi shafts and would have the same thing as having disco 1 V8 shafts.

sure they'd be the same as the ones you currently have width wise though…….

How come a 2.5td driveshaft is a fraction of the price of a V8

Would there be any benefit fitting a disk braked Salisbury for the torque output of the engine

Probably the UJ's or something, might be thicker but my series props are pretty beefy looking, more or less the same as the ones on my disco

and no……you wont break the rear axle that easily
