Hi does anyone know how far the slave rod should extrude out of the bell housing-on mine it is only a few mm and not enough for the slave cylinder to push on,I have checked the fork with a light and mirror and there is no hole-so I guess the fork has either bent /colapsed or release bearing has broken up-or some other dilema.
Clutch failed engaging gear at traffic lights-foot went straight to floor, without warning or other symptoms.Any thoughts please?

Not exactly sure, but just looking at view in the manual yours sounds about right, it is only sticking out about 1/4" at most. Is there any signs of leakage anywhere to suggest hydraulic failure.

Thanks for that ssmn 1234-had to strip the lot out in the end ,and the pivot ball in the bell housing had punctured the fork-replaced the lot and fitted heavy duty fork (extra strap welded on back)-now the slave rod protrudes from the bell housing more like an inch.

hi ive got a disco 300tdi 98 & need to fit a clutch do i have to fit a spigot bush?

Not if the one in it is ok. I have just pulled two engines out of disco's and one spigot was fine tuther was jammed in solid and seriously fooked.
