In a nutshell, you engine will die, horribly and painfully. If you're 'lucky', you'll only need to replace the cam shatf, piston rods, cylinder head, valves, injectors... Often results in requiring a whole new block though.
Google 'disco 2 petrol cam belt service intervals' and check when it needs doing but I suspect you're already (over)due.
Better safe than forking out for a new block.
