lent my "mature" son my disco today to do some shopping in.

done his shopping, was unloading it via the rear door to see it rolling down a slope towards a firmly fixed into the floor telegraph pole.
son stood holding bags of shopping while my disco found the wooden pole until inertia stopped!
its now got a green covered offside plastic endcap, that about 3 inches nearer the drivers door then when I lent it out!
oh, along with the nicely painted bumper thats bent at the bolting on points!
tomoz will see me, a strong metal bar, and said huge wooden pole having a tug of war to pull back into place said wrinkled pretty black painted bumper.
along with front panel & bloody wing I guess!!!

Dad, the handbrake was on said he,
so I pulled handbrake on (as you do in a temper)
tried to pull away in both 1st, then reverse
= stalled the doosel both times!!

Oh, said I, dont work eh,
as i gets out slamming the door... :)

kids, dont you just love `em...

Iv lernt from living on a hill, I always park in gear. Trust that more than a hand brake

dont ask how i know but them bumpers is hard to straighten by hand..... you might find it easier to tie the outer end to summit solid and reverse gently.... tis easier if youve got someone to tell you to stop when it looks straight..... but tis relitavly easy to bend it back again if you over straighten it.

Have to agree, they certainly bend...

Living in Malvern you learn to leave it in gear.

And nobody will ever drive my Landy related or otherwise. No way hosé

BIG lols from me at comments..
well, not fixed my modified bumper yet,
now driving round corners gives that pleasing rubbing sound of tyres on plastic underbumper bits,
but just looked at it all in a bit of disgust really.
was so lucky to not bust the headlight nor spots nor indicator....
sorry for rule breaking, but being a dumbass photo poster, I failed..

Dad being dad has been out with No.1 son a bought him another car,
an old but still good 1600 zetec escrot flight estate £250 :)
got robbed £25 by insurance brokers to change it over from sons fcuked yoda hes had fer a couple of years, plus nuvver £5 a month ontop of his original £14..
oh, escrot. T & T`d fer 4 months, plus half a tank of unleaded- runs sweet as a nut too.
quick valet & t-cut,
she`ll be right :)

meanwhile, big fellas bent bumper still booked in fer tomoz now marked as
"attention required"..... :nothingtoadd:

of subject a bit
years ago I was racing bangers, used to chain bent ends to solid lorries & reversed quickly to unbend them a bit if I never had time to use a porta power.
god I miss my porta power now!!!!

happy days..

today was the day to fit my genuine alternator belt and mend bent bumper =

so after taking of the plastic end cap,
put a length of chain through the end of bent bumper, then to rear towing eye on sons soon to be scrapped yoda corrolla
and got him to drive the yoda off :)
took 5 drive offs to pull the bumper straight again :)
refitted plastic end cap, and black silicon over now used attaching bolt heads and dimpled bumper top sorted it very well.

oh, had to re affix nearside flasher bulb holder as it had unscrewed and fell out wiv our playing @ bangers in bumper straightening.
good results today in the freezing cold & damp wind..
