The Disco 3's have the spares underneath and they are winched down from inside to get them - well - i noticed today mine is missing :'( it was there, errm, last time I checked (which to be fair isn't that often) but is now gone... now there is a small chance it fell off either in a car park or as i was driving along and I didn't notice, but, I think the more likely outcome is some fugger has nicked it - it was, after all, a brand new Pirelli Scorpion tyre on a good quality, unused alloy, so, probably worth a few pence.

Anyway, has anyone had a failure with this on the D3 which would lean me towards it falling off of it's own accord or is it likely i've just been robbed

It's pretty common for them to be nicked. I've seen something on the market that is basically a round disc with a bracket on the back that holds the cable rather than it being exposed for thieves to cut. Can't remember the name of it though I'm afraid.

Ah... it has indeed been stolen and i've found it on eBay about 20 minutes away... so... how the fudge do i prove it's mine... other than the clear sand stains on the wheel from 2 weeks driving in the desert...?

Reported to Police... see if anything comes of it

Just checked and mine is still there :D
I hope you get yours back....it'd be a shame to have to pay for what's rightfully yours.

I would expect it would be very hard to prove its yours

As above win the auction, go to collect, see if he has a landy or other parts, ask questions about the wheel I.e what it came off, does it have fsh lol try catch him out, turn up in your vehicle and let him know yours was stolen then kick the **** outta him:eek:

Take some big mates with you - how many seats in a disco? ...
2 - it's a commercial

I would advise you get a spare wheel protector! RLD on the disco3 forum does them for a very good price and i've just been over to a guys house to have a look at it.

The most upsetting part is the £65 i will have to pay out for a new winch :(

Police are coming round tonight to discuss with me :)

:mad:Daft place to locate a spare wheel, this is one of the few reasons I'm putting of buying a D4 until my D2 is well and truly past repair.

Don't put it off for one more second - the D3 is far far far far far far far far far better than the D2 - and I can only assume the D4 is too - I've had a D1, 2 and 3 so far and wish i'd skipped the D2 phase.
