hi guys got a problem with my disco3 2.7 v6 deisel, it is really very slow to select top gear when cold if at all, you can only get it by using the manual option then sometimes that can take a while until shes warmed up any ideas?

when was the Gbox oil changed? sounds like a mega flush will cure that

Sounds perfectly normal to me.

My TD5 is the same and the reason is that the gearbox ECU takes inputs from the engine so that it doesn't change into too-high a gear until the engine is warmed through. In cold weather mine won't go into Torque Converter lock-up for perhaps 5 to 8 mins of running.


On the face of the very brief info given, your car is behaving normally.
