Hi guys, just done a full filter service and new pads on my td5, fitted cruise control last of all after changing fuel filter, was running upto fitting filter,cruise, now lights come on on dash fuel pump primes but won't turn over. Tried eka code and halfway through input horn beeps once, but code is right. Had battery disconnected whilst doing cruise .
Thanks for any help, getting desperate now !

OK, sounds fun,

Start by checking the lucar connector on the starter motor.

Does the starter solenoid click when you turn the key?

If you are able to lock and unlock using the key fob, and the dash red led turns off then the EKA code is not going to do much.

what is the dash light ( little red led ) doing?

Also, are you sure the EKA code is correct? have you used it before?

Are you using the procedure out of the owners manual?

There is a copy of the owners manual how to in here.

Yes I've used key code before, red light is staying on solid when I try and start it.

I do not know , but until we know what the status is , it is difficult to say.

If you were to answer the above questions / give responses to all the posts it may help. :)

Also, you could try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins and reconnect.
What happens if you lock then unlock with the fob and then try to start ? what is the red led doing?

Did you have it changed in the BCU to allow unlocking with the key to disarm the alarm?
 
Well you can check you have not left something loose when you fitted the cruise control.

The strange thing is, normally if you are using the key only, then you have to have had the disarm alram changed to either with Key anf Fob or Key only. Then you will still need to use a key that has a working chip to allow the car to start.

I can only replicate this by using a non fob key as it does not have the immobiliser chip fitted. Or a fob key with the battery removed.

Does you key still have the fob on it? if it does is the battery any good?

I've just fitted the replacement receiver I bought and never got round to doing, bingo it turns over but battery a bit flat now I'll put it on charge and try again.
Thanks very much for the pointers, I'd have completely forgotten about the receiver if you hadn't mention fobs!
