i've got the standard leaking sunroof at the front.
the previous owner has sealed the glass to the body with very poor quality silcon sealent. as a very tempary measure i've just cleaned up and resealed with better stuff, hopefully this will do the job, until better weather. and i can replace the whole sunroof, (quicker than cleaning all the old c**p off/out of it.

both sunroof's are manual and i was wondering how easy would it be to convert them to electric?

can you just remove the winder system and bolt on a motor?
is the wiring already there?? oh it's a 1999 TD5 GS
i can get the switches, panels , and ecu off a scrapper?

would the BCU need telling it has sunroofs to work with? and if so could Hawkeye do this?

My advice is to forget about that, the electric sunroofs are leaking more often than the manual ones cos the motor doesnt have the power of a man .... but here are the answers:

1. The mechanical part is the same...u can put a motor instead of the lever
2. I suppose the wiring is there(but not 100% sure about that)
3. U can get the components from anywhere but be aware, only Testbook T4 has diagnostic capabilities for sunroof ECU... and how can u rely on a scrapped ECU?
4. Hawkeye has no programming menu for sunroofs....though i dont think BCU has to be setted for that
