hi as title says its a 1995 300tdi pre fly by wire disco all the lights on the dash come on but when you go to start theres nothing theres relays clicking but it wont turn over i tried just running a wire from the starter to the battery from the spade connection on it and it will turn over that way so it not the starter.

and ive checked if im getting any power to the starter on original wiring loom on the wire that goes on the spade connection but all i get is about 4 or 5 volts that come on when all the dash lights are on but when you go to start it doesn't change now im stuck on what it could be the imobiliser light doesn't come on because i tried starting it without the fob near the ignition and the imobiliser light came on.

any 1 no what it could be cheers

Clean the battery terminals? Or a loose battery terminal connection.

Have you tried cycling the cental locking remote while you sit in with the key out and then trying to start? That can clear the immobiliser temporarily.This often happens after changing the ignition lock barrel if the car isnt testbooked.

If not,and it isnt the alarm/immobiliser spider thing,test the back of the ignition barrel for 12v output at start position...had a late model 200 disco go like that.

hi ye cheers for everything it is the alarm spider thing some on the cennections have burnt out will get them resolded asap

I just bypassed my mates as they units themselves can be somewhat problematical and still have the pin identifications if you need them!

Post em up mate,I got one of my discos one bypassed but want to fix one of the others........
