im thinking of fitting a disco 1 disk brake axle onto my rusting '90 drum brake rear axle.although its a slightly shorter axle,i think the fittings are all the same.does anyone out there know?thanks

really, i never knew disco axles were narrower than 90 ones, are you sure? i thought disco 2 axles were wider but all the rest were the same. apart from series axles witch are narrower agian

i measured my axle which i think was about 46 inches(just axle not drums also) and then the disco which was about 42.

I fitted one to my 90 yesterday and it dont look any different apart from hubs looking smarter. fits staight on too.:)

who the **** is jane+yella, it certainly aint me, im no feckin schitzo, no mate, im the original yella. not sure about the narrower thing but i know they fit ;)

maybe the extra width is made up in the disc brake hubs on the disco axle. if they are different widths its the first i'v heard of it.

It's a lot cheaper to buy new drums and shoes, if your getting the axle from a breakers, Simpsons near York wanted 300quid just for the axle can't remember how much for the calipers an gubbins.
