Hello again.

Well after a selection on bent push rod etc from my timing belt going I am getting about putting it all back together again.

How or whats the best way to get each component back in time? as obviously moved out.

I have the locking kit, but not too sure how to get the fuel pump, camshaft and crank all back in time. Thanks for any help hoping to get the old girl bck on the road asap. cheers

not sure about the title im putting it down to typing with a screaming baby at the same time! Any hows its a 300tdi 1997 disco cheers

Using the timing pins, wind the flywheel around to find the locking slot and install the locking pin via the wading plug hole .

Next turn the the injection pump pulley until until the locking pin can be installed. Finally align the camshaft pulley timing mark with it's timing chest opposite mark.

Now everything should be aligned correctly.

Great cheers, cant find any threads for this. When I turn the camshaft it goes so far then spins its self!

Bear in mind that it is not only trying to open and close the valves, but operates the lift pump and vacuum pump as well.

Yeah just noticed that the now, wondered what the noise was when turning it over! Well I think its set up right. The cam lines up with the mark and the exhaust lobe on cylinder 1 is about to open when the piston is on the way down. What about the fuel pump though? Is it not possible to have that a complete turn out?
