Hello boys and girls, does any one know where to get a couple of front disc shields. The only place I have found stock so far is from the forum sponsor at a hefty £50 a side, for a pressed steel back plate, I don't think so !!!

Mine have been removed, one rusted away and was taken off before it fell off. The other kept rusting and leaving crap between it and the disk make the breaks noisy. Been no issues.

My O/S/F one broke away so I just pulled it off, will remove the other side prior to MOT.

Another useless piece of kit to rust, which serves no purpose at all.
In the wet, any water is thrown off the disc & hub in much the same way as a spin dryer works.....it's called centrifugal force. In addition, any crap that lands is also thrown off as there are no nooks and crannies for it to get lodged.

The rear backplates however are different as the brake mechanism is mounted on them.

They make an awful row when they break away from the fixing bolts, mine was floating about rubbing on the disc.

Just take them off !!!
