Hi all,
can anyone help me out?
Ive been having a few problems with my indicators (1991 Def 110 - 200TDi)
Indicators started playing up - blowing a fuse every now and again. then the other day stoped working all together - fuse not blown this time as dials were still working. Local Garage suggested it could be the hazard warning light - fiddled with it and got indicators working but not properly so then went out and got new hazard switch.
Damp thing blew the hazards fuse and then no indicators working at all - replaced flasher unit but still not working.
Drove home with one very cold right arm (its amazing how many people dont know the hand signal for a "left-turn" - even though I was kind enough to put a sign in the rear window to say "Hand Signals only") As I got home thought I would try and wiggle the hazard light switch again and everything started working again.
Any ideas on whats causing the problem?
What I did consider doing was "jerry-rigging" a circuit using the existing lights but wiring up to an "external" flasher unit and switches instead of the orginal fitted ones - any ideas on how to do this? (this is just incase the problem happens again over weekend whilst I'm out and about - dont fancy hanging around for the nice people from AA to arrive with a car full of kids)
cheers for any help.
