I am probably not going to be able to spend some time on this until Friday. I am working every day until then and it gets dark very soon after I get home.

Late Thursday is a possibility as I should finish work a bit earlier that day.

Three terminals in the plug?

There are only two in my connectors.

I assume you mean the connectors that plug onto the bulbs?

Oops thought it was an old one! Same applies. There's two bulbs and two plugs on a facelift. Obviously make sure you have the right one! Do the same test one should be live the other will be earth swap over the test light then test that one. That should show if it's power or earth fault:D if you want help just shout.

Job done! :D

One of the wires to the connector was corroded and obviously not making a good contact.

It wasn't easy to see as the wires are so short and don't protrude from the lamp housing much.

Cleaned up and a little solder and it is now working again.

Thanks to all who offered ideas and suggestions.

It wasn't easy to see. The wire was connected but rusty so not a good contact.

Next project is to replace the bog standard cd / radio unit with a double din modern unit.
