I'll put this here as im not getting replies on my other thread..

Cracked the cylinder head on a 2.5N/A engine, i have another engine that i'm going to use for the spares needed to rebuild the one in the landy.

I will then rebuild the spare...can i put a 2.5 turbo head on the bottom end of a 2.5N/A engine?? Will be easier to sell then and pay for the repairs to my N/A

Cheers

I'm pretty sure (95%) you can. I'm sure many reconditioners, and Land Rover, went over to the turbo head as the replacement years ago.

need a ****in strong box. The offers there if you want it stormy. its had 4 of the valves reseated with no oil seals fitted, i jus got a new engine before i bothered with the other 4. Is a good head, complete too.

Yes you can put it on.

They are the SAME engine - the later turbos had the block strengthened but before that it was EXACTLY the same engine and even after strengthening it was still VERY similar. i.e. both parts could still be interchanged. All they did was put on a turbo, turbo manifold and vaccum actuated injection pump on it and called the the TD.
