Just a quickie........ Do I need to remove prop to replace diff mounts??

And

Is it better to do one at a time to help with positioning rather than remove all three at once??
Thanks

Chris

No I didn't, but the front mount can be a bit of a pig to get back in. Hippo on here did a fabulous How to write up thread, complete with photos.

Thanks sucram

Read all the threads....... Seems some did and some didn't....... Ill try without and see how it goes

I didn't remove the diff or disconnect propshaft/drive shafts when I did mine. Remove one of the rear mounts first, that will give you more movement to replace the front one. The rear mounts are pretty easy.
I did however remove the rear diff cover to drain the oil and have a look inside for signs of wear and ****e. Gave the inside a clean together with the cover mounting faces using white spirit and refitted using RTV silicone to seal. Have not had any oil seepage/ leaks 12 months later.
I removed the original LR front bush from the carrier and replaced it with a Polybush from Flo-Flex Polyurethane Limited which should last for years.

Thanks Irishrover

This weekends job if the rain stays away....... Had enough of the knocking now!!

Yep I swapped the front mount with prop etc all connected - just removed bolt from rear mount to allow diff to move over enough .

But pay more attention than I did on how it came out - if I hadn't removed it myself I wouldnt have believed the new one would go in !

The only non service item I have had to replace on my hippo :D
