I know it says you can jack up on the diff case , but can you jack if you have diff guards fitted , or will it put to much strain on the bolts holding it on .

An interesting question that will probably get yes and no answers!! I will start by saying that I have used the diff guard but have since jacked up either side near the hub. There is an adaptor that sits offset to allow a central jacking point available (or you can make it) that I will be getting.

Probably would be fine as a one off in an emergency but I wouldn’t do it regularly. Saying that some will probably be along saying they’ve been jacking that way for 20yrs so what do I know.

Mine appear to bolt to the diff itself , unlike some sort of clamp around it .

I had QT diff guards on my old disco 1 and used to jack them to raise it to change wheels. No issues. I’m not aware of any guidance to say yes or no though. Perhaps QT can give a diffinitive (no pun) answer.

I had the paddocks diff guards which covered the diff plate. I wouldn't Jack off them, just Jack the axle. Easier to get to as well.

I tend to jack off the axle but its handy to jack under the guard , i only worry as its supported by 4? bolts (i think) all the weight is going onto those studs .
But it should be ok if they are designed to be strong enough to hit rocks and protecting the diffs . QT do look tough .
