Need to change the diff front mount. Have searched on the forum but this has only confused me more.
Is it an easy DIY job? I know the diff needs to be supported but will I need to slacken the 2 rear mounts to allow the front of the diff to be moved so the front mount can be removed?
I have also read about a mounting jig but not having one, is it difficult to get the diff back in the original position?
I have a genuine front mount coming from the UK as I understand aftermarket ones aren't that good.
Any pointers gratefully received.

It's an easy job to change the front mount.
The diff needs supporting but a trolly jack will do the job.
Once the front mounting is unbolted, the diff needs to be moved enough to extract the old mount and fit the new one.

Should I be able to move the diff enough without unbolting anything else?

I don't remove anything else. I think some people remove the propshaft from the diff, but I don't think that is necessary. The mount will wiggle out without much fuss, once all three bolts are removed. A pry bar might be handy to have to hand. Otherwise it's a straightforward job.

It will nip your fingers if you let it, but it can all be done as nodge says, get it raised to a height so you can get underneath, but make sure car is well supported and can't come down on you!

I did mine with a trolley jack and a standard socket set. Took about 40 minutes. I did loosen the rear mounts for more movement. It's a bit tricky getting the new one in. Just a bit of patience needed.
