I know.
I KNOW!

showing my ignorance - but.........

wots the diff between a disco and a defender?

obviously the body - but wot else?

someone on here sed "if yu doin lots of motoway drivin - change yo box fur a disco one" an I also heard that the defender axle arms (the long cast bits) are stronger on a defender than a disco.

help edicificate an old codger and show your knowledge - wots diff?

do yu really mean 1to2 and 1to4 ratios - the defender revs twice as high as a disco?

dont yu mean 1.2:1 and 1.4:1?

the disco has a 1:2 ratio tranny box while the defender has a 1:4 box - just reduces the revs when your crusing

Ashcroft Transmissions

Sometimes.

Some early One Tens had 1.6:1, one Ninety variant had a 1.2 factory jobbie. Disco MPi had a 1.4 doodah.

Very simplistically the Disco was based on a late 80's Rangie. and I spose the Defendier was based on an early 80's Rangie with Series 3 bits bolted on - what didn't fit the hybrid they made new.

So they have lots of simliar bits - and loads of diifrunt ones.:) I'd wait fro an eggspurt to come and answer MHM.

Discos' are wot people have at weddings an things where old codgers embarrass their kids and the younger generation by dancing like a winder licker. Defenders aren't.
