My engine is slightly out of time and i am in the middle of adjusting it, what i need to know is:

If i set no. one cylinder to TDC, then align the injector pump pulley and the camshaft pulley to the timing marks will the engine then be correctly in time?

thanks for any help!

diesel timing is an art, unless you are very lucky you will never get it right, its best to take it to a diesel specialist and pay to get it done ;)

yes if you get pot one set thats you, as the rest will follow, but there is more to it than just lining them up, because the pump then needs adjusted.

But as yella says, unless you know what your up to, take it to a specialist.

aye, i am a time served diesel mechanic and i always try to gt someone ele to sort the pump timing out, there is nothing worse than a pinking oil burner ;)

wot you served time fer?? being in possesion of a brighly colour disco? polluting the french countryside with ep90?

must be cause of the color.
cant see the frogs being bothered about a few gallons of hypoid, when they are messing up the planet with all them citroen 2cv,s.

now theurs a thing..when i lived in blighty i seen more 2cv's than i have over here.. most of the farmers around here have mercs or bmw's. you'd find more 2cv's in and around oxford that you do in the whole of this dept. maybe in paris there a few more of them but ain't many around these ear parts.
