Any Tdi owners here running a propane/LPG system? If so what exactly, who set it up and how affective have you found it?

Cheers.

I'll keep you updated as I am about to start trying propane when I get my landy on the road this week.
Read a lot on Yank forums as it's popular over there with the GMC lumps.
AFAIK a regulated supply to the air intake is all you need.
A small bottle of propane and flow meter is what I have.
I was thinking about switching a gas solenoid on with the now redundant throttle position sensor on my 300tdi, the throttle arm has a nice collar for the switching.
This would allow propane at a pre-determined throttle position, like 3/4 or full throttle only.
Also AFAIK you don't need to go overboard a trickle is all you need, too much has negative results.

There is one guy on the Discovery Owners Club forum that has been running this for 2 years at least. He's played with the settings and really rates it as both a performance enhancer and an economy measure.

My 110 has been running with LPG for 3 or 4 years (ish). I've had it a year and a half, on/off switch and gauge on dash, external tank under driver.
Noticably better performance when switched on, haven't worked out if better economy yet but I would suspect it will be better.
Filling is 1 tank of gas for 3 fills of diesel.
