Depending on how loud it is for those few seconds I would say, no, its not a problem, its quite normal.

Goes like*** no knocking after startup, smooth - just slightly ouder than normal "knock" for 3 secs on starting.:eek:
 
Does the duration of the clatter coinside with the oil light going out? If so consider a new oil and filter.

lack of oil, i would usually look at putting a set of shells in a motor if it was doing that but as your stops after a few secs and dont hear anything under load then its a shortage of oil for those few secs, get it sorted sooner than later!

Give it a thorough engine oil and filter service, put in top quality oil, then at least you'll know you did your best.

What have you got to lose, it'll take half an hour of your life and maybe £30 ??;)
