Hi does anyone know where the diagnostic socket is for a 2000 Defender TD5? I thought it was in the drivers footwell but can't see it. Under passenger seat is battery and under drivers seat is ECU and a small fuse box. I have read that it is under centre seat but I have only got a cubby box which is fixed but can see there is nothing underneath

It "should" be in the square hole on a bracket in front of the cubby box.

Bracket looks like this

If it isn't someone has moved it, remove the cubby box and check under the metal panel.

Yep, it's in the most stupidly obvious place and completely open to mud etc! Hopefully there is some sort of cover available for it

Somebody once told me the plastic cover from a Vauxhall Astra diagnostics socket fits the Defender diagnostics socket. Cant vouch for that though as I use the afore mentioned duct tape.
