Hi all , where is the diagnostic socket and engine ecu on a 2000 X reg 4.0 hse, will my memoscan read the codes. The engine is lumpy on petrol and gas and appears to be missing around 2000 revs, this was very apparent last weekend when towing a caravan for the first time. I purchased the vehicle two weeks ago so i've got about two weeks of the standard traders waranty left, i don't want to get rid, apart from this problem its a great car, love it at the moment.

diagnostic socket is under the passangers glove box footwell and its a OBd2 port, never heard of a memoscan so calnt help you there. 
Ps if you want your ecu values resetting via the OBd2 let me know
