How Do.
Well all the talk of Defender thefts got me seriously paranoid. So I've invested in some simple stuff (Disclok etc) while I'm saving up for a proper alarm/immobiliser setup.
However , the Landy has decided to do it's bit on it's own, and the rear door is now in "High-Security" mode, ie: I can't get the bl**dy thing open.
The keys spin but don't "Catch" and the inside latch does nothing.
Having googled this one to death it looks like I need to get the old lock off somehow. Has anybody got any ideas?
Sick of throwing the dog over the rear bulkhead............

you should be able to take the cover off the mechanism with the door closed (from the inside), and release it "manually"
when you say inside latch, as in the handle, or the lock "button" if yours has one, mine doesn , but its a SW.

It's a '94 D90 van.
The interior "lock" button just wiggles about and doesn't seem to do anything.
Stuff I've read online talks about drilling out the rivets etc. I was hoping it wouldn't be that drastic...........:confused2:

just been to have a look, the mech cover on mines held on by 4 small bolts, having said that it may not be original as its had a replacement barrel, sounds like a link has come off/broken, the cover needs to come off one way or another.
