Hi al, I'm having trouble with my clutch here, I have just fitted an engine and box out of a disco 300tdi into my V8 90, went to connect the clutch up, bled it (I assume it was fully bled as there were no more air bubbles coming out) However, when I started the engine, pressed the clutch pedal and went to select a gear the car was creeping forward, as if the clutch wasn't engaging? Can any of you informable people shed any light as to what the problem could be? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance :)
 
creeping forward as if cutch is grabbing slightly?,if it has a damper on the side of slave it can take a bit of bleeding to get right
 
lol, V8 was more of a headache than this!

I've extended the slave cylinder rod but maybe not by enough? Going to try extending it more in the morning again, any other ideas are greatly welcomed.
 
Have you had a new clutch fitted? Maybe the release bearing is sticking on the input shaft, or could be the the pressure plate has not been tightened properly and damaged the clutch finger springs, could be a number of things mate but all easily sorted
 
Yeah mate I fitted a new clutch. I was planning on pushing it out of the workshop in the morning once the clutch has been rebled and driving it to see if that frees anything?
 
Did you make sure the push rod pushed all the way in before fitting the slave cylinder? If not then the clutch has not been fitted properly or the pressure plate tightened in-evenly causing it to go in on a ****ed angle
 
I can see the push rod pushing the fork through the viewing hole, but when I fitted the clutch kit I tightened all the bolts in an opposite fashion so it pulled it up nice and square?
 
when you connected up the slave cylinder, was there pressure there when you pushed the pushrod against it? did you have to put force on it so it mated up with the face of the bellhousing? if not the slave cylinder is no good
 
did you have to force the slave cylinder against the push rod to mate it up to the bell housing? if not then the slave cylinder is knckered
 
I'm in Dumfries, just above carlisle mate. I'll try and drive it tomorrow, will either kill it or cure it I guess?
