The passenger door on my Defender appears solid and in reasonable condition, however the bottom of the door, the lower frame area appears to have rusted rather badly as has further parts of the frame where the door card attaches to. I am torn between the option of replacing the whole door or alternatively just welding in new channels. Given the experience of others which option promotes the better approach.?

Doors can be quite expensive as they're often sought after because of the problem you have described. If its within your skill or you know someone who can help it's probably worthwhile repairing yours to get more life out of them for less ££.

I tend to agree, I'm just fearful of which supplier to use. I've noticed there's quite a few on eBay....Any recommendations as I often find word of moth more reliable than glossy ads !!!

Also can anyone tell me whether you can purchase the front skin of a wing, ie the front aluminium panel that holds the headlight. I've tried pulling out the dent and skimming it but it still very noticeable. Would be interested if anyone has an old near side wing or single skin, alternatively can recommend somewhere.
Cheers folks :)

Is this the part your looking for? YRM are pretty good I've had a galvanized exhaust bracket off them before and they do loads of repair sections for various LRs.
