just tried fitting discovery alloys to my 1989 v8 defender 90 only to discover they fit ok but:doh::( the drive flange caps stick out through the centre of the wheel so you cant put the alloy wheel centre cap on
apart from fitting wheel spacers to set the wheels further out is there anything else i could do:confused::confused:

leave the caps off
when you say leave the caps off , your talking about the original caps right ?
not tried fitting the alloy wheel caps on without removing the originals do you think they will fit the drive flange sticks out nearly flush with the hole in the alloys

Have you checked the length of the wheel studs?? Yu mite want to compare them to the studs fitted to a disco. nowt worst than having ya wheels come off because the studs weren't long enough.

Let's know haw it affects the gearing as well as they are a lot smaller than landy wheels.

had the same problem on my old 87 90 the older 90's have a larger hubs (sticks out a tad more than the newer ones do ) luckily for me i was in the prosess of changing my axles anyway so they fitted ok afterwards

I'm looking to get some new alloys and tyres, does anyone know a good cheap place to get some good wheels for my defender 90?
