Reporting back - The pump fitted to my Landy has the Series 3 pump, part number 563146 and it seems it fits early 2.5's turbo and NA. However, to make it fit and match pipe entry you need to remove the screws from the pump lid, turn the lid anti clockwise to next screwholes and retighten.
In my case, it has not fixed the problem - Still chasing that. Is there anything else that could cause this faltering at 50 + ?
 
Ok thanks. Starts and runs great - Will do 60 etc but not for long, maybe a mile - but it certainly drives as normal before the falter kicks in, will run at 45 all day. No smoke except a little after overnight start up but just a puff really so no issue there. I've driven it with fuel cap removed just in case, no effect.
 
The tank did seem to be pressurised when I removed the cap - positively not negatively, I assume thats the fuel return?
To put it in context, I had driven it, stopped it and immediately removed the cap seconds after a several mile journey. I know the TD5's with electric pumps have pressured tanks, should mine be on an 88 90? Either way, removing the fuel cap made no difference.
 
Update but with no resolution yet.
I've changed the fuel filter again, changed the fuel pump, blown the fuel lines, tried removing the fuel cap. All to no avail. However, I tried the following which only makes this more weird. I drove it in 3rd gear at 35mph for some distance, up some steep hill too - I'm sure the revs it was doing would have equated to a lot more than the 50/55 in top where I have the problem - and it would not do it. I took the air filter top off and low and behold, it has no air filter in (I've just bought this so not me guv..). I don't have one so just tried it but same prob. Hoses look ok, nothing collapsed air side. I'm really at a loss now, clearly able to get enough fuel, starts instantly, no smoke - can't think of anything speed related, its def engine faltering not prop/handbrake related and recovers itself when speed drops and happily drives at 60+ for maybe half a mile before it does it.

Any more suggestions very gratefully received..

I dont think your tank should be pressurised, positive or negative, think you need to check the cap passes air.
If not, maybe you are looking at a tired injection pump.
 
Thanks Turboman - I did drive it with cap removed, no change. As for injection pump, is there anything you can think of speed related given that it can achieve max revs in any gear and maintain it, even on hills, except top gear (on the flat even). If it can achieve max revs up hill in 3rd could it still be tired pump?

and here I am - Turned out to be the boost diaphragm fitted to the side of the fuel injection pump. Cost £15.83 incl delivery/vat from Atlantic Diesels. Part number 7243-006.
If your 19j has the wire seal still attached to the top bolt on the boost valve (indicating it has been there from new) its worth considering changing it anyway - even the tiny hole mine had in it, visible only by stretching it about when removed, had quite a dramatic effect. A badly gone one will create smoke as fuel passes through to the turbo directly, mine was just the faltering at speed.
