Henry_b Think outside, no box required. Aug 25, 2019 #2 Both have their fare share of issues. The TDV8 would get my vote as it's very grunty. But EGR's and coolers fail - Headgaskets can give trouble post 100k and tbh 22mpg isn't brilliant oh and watch the turbos they go through em like smarties. TDV6 Cranks can snap, oil pumps fail - Turbos go up the ****ter. etc I'd buy the V8 petrol IMHO.
