Can l get a TD5 Defender decat pipe with a silencer? Only with the straight through CAT replacement pipe there was a droning at 65-70mph on my 110 CSW.

I refitted the CAT and the droning has gone, along with the faster turbo response.

I searched online and while l can find threads where people have fitted them (sometimes to please the MOT tester!) all l can find is straight through pipes.

If the performance is better with the CAT fitted, what is the problem with just leaving it in place?

It's better without, my post is not that clear!
Without the CAT it's not any faster, but the turbo is more responsive. That is, when you put your foot down it seems to pick up more quickly.

Anybody?

I'm going to start by replacing the rest of the exhaust with new OE parts, as it may be that the baffles in my centre box have failed after 11 years.

silencer is only fitted to middle pipe, decat pipe is just a straight pipe

What about one of these. Is this what is referred to as a "sport CAT" as in less restrictive than the OE one?
