I have an L series 2l xedi freelander has anyone fitted a decat pipe on theirs? Does it improve the mpg And does it sound alright?

It'll sound a bit louder, but not much louder with the standard rear silencer.
You are better off just knocking the guts out the standard cat. This then looks standard and effect is the same as a cat replacement pipe.

A bar or stout tube will do it. You'll need to get the broken pieces out somehow too.
The MPG should improve a bit.

Nope. And if it looks like a standard cat, a double nope.

Don' think diesels need a cat for mot

I asked the guy who does mine and he said so long as it passes the smoke check he's happy

They are clamping down on DPF removal from euro 5 engines but there's little enforcement for pre euro 2 engines like the old L series diesel, other than a particulate smoke test.

Are dead cat's worth ££ at the scrap dealers in the UK? You get about £15 to £20 each here. What's a decat pipe cost? I got one of a scrappy for about £8. Just an Idea.

Yes scrap people like them over ere. So do thieves. There's also peeps online who will happily help you out by swopping yer cat for a decat pipe at minimal cost. They don't mention the value of yer cat, dpf etc depending on what yer give them.
