For later vehicles like yours it is one shot grease. Do not mix anything.
Since you posted this I did some research, and I learned that LR used gear oil in the swivel pins previously.

One shot grease is not hard to get unless I order overseas but purely out of convenience and cost, can I not just use 80w-90 as the same as I put in my diffs. My front diff already leaks grease into it so would It not be somewhat cleaner just using gear oil? as at least when I am draining my front diff I am also flush some of the gear oil from the swivel pin out. I dont have a drain plug

Is there any issues using 80w90?

Seem to have lost some in translation "One shot grease is not hard to get unless I order overseas"

You dont have a drain plug because yours uses 1 shot. to use oil you would have to remove the seal in the hub (strip it all down)

I would stick with the 1 shot TBH, Have heard its only a 50/50 mix of EP90 and LM grease (not sure though).

So can I make this mixture myself?

I lied, my local LR just got a case of 10. Last time I called they said they didnt have it. Guy told me when there is a car in for service that needs that part they will order a case (LR cost) and service that part. Just a chance of right timing.

But at the core route of why use grease over oil is for leakage? I don’t see there being a performance reason as I would believe gear oil would lube much better than grease?
Some think grease will stay in if seals are iffy, but it is not the case. The one shot stuff when warmed up will leak like the gear oil when seals are bad.
Is the oil system better? Series Landy's used it and so did the early coil spring ones. Have driven both types for over 50 years with many miles done and have never replaced a wheel bearing. Fixed just about every thing else.

Well I’m already under the truck, takes time wow. Tried warming up the sachet and it blew. Found an easier way personally for me, but when I clean this out one day I will probably switch to oil. Hope this method is an alternative for some who also blew the sachet trying to warm it up in water

Put it on full lock,it makes a large hole past the chrome ball & easy job
I did, I even chained my steering wheel to my mirror to get a maximum full lock but still slow as hell. I have to say, a plastic end bit for the sachet to just fit into the little hole would have been perfect.

I just leave it in the funnel, warm it up a bit, do few rotations to let it breath and go back inside and do my work. I check on it every 10 minutes.

This sachet blew in my cooking pot and exploded on my driveway. 🤦🏻‍♂️ i am cursing to the wind and LR …..

I’m about done now, really messy job if you miss that whole. And the body position you have to be in holding that sachet with two hands is terrible if you don’t have a lift. Hence why I prefer shoving a funnel and leaving it

Forgot the easy way to empty the 1shot.

Have you got a an old metal brake flex clamp?
Put the end of the 1shot in the clamp ready. Cut the nipple end & place into hole.
Twist/roll the clamp down the 1shot like a toothpaste tube

Comes out very easy.
(Dont do the boil in the bag)

Thank you for the tip, i will note this if i decide to use grease again. I have finished the job earlier.

Most likely will probably use 80w90 moving forward. cheaper and already added a bit previously and had no leaks. I am guessing after a few front diff flushes I will be able to remove most of the grease. after feeling the consistency, it is borderline gear oil especially when I warmed it up.
I would have taken a drainplug and gear oil over the grease and no drainplug. But a plastic nipple would have been perfect.

I have never had a problem squeezing swivel grease from a bag. Do you keep yours in the freezer?
No, but LR did…. 😭

When I have it on full lock, the inner part of swivel housing leaves the fill hole only a quarter open. It just overfills from hitting that inner housing. (Not sure what that inner part is)

Hence why I had to chain my steering wheel full lock because it will obviously not hold that position unless there is force applied or held to be able to expose that hole a bit and opted for a funnel because I could not hold that body position. But clearly you can see from my photo the grease wasn’t moving at all….

for myself who wants to use oil, believe me, my mind did not go this far to come up with this idea to boil grease
