Plugged the cigarette lighter in and the smoke started coming from the dashboard, now it wont start and i have a burnt out wire from the fuse box going to the nsf foot well where there is a grey plug and a green plug, i have ignition lights but starter wont engage..... help please

you must be more specific with which wires and plugs, maybe a picture, and which fusebox, engine bay or interior?
it came from the fuse box under the steering wheel and goes behind the center consol and ends in a strange plug thing in the passengers footwell, its completely burnt out and i was just thinking of replacing that wire but i dont know where it goes to in the fuse box as it had already been cut out

is yours a V8? ... if yes check fusible link FL8 in engine bay, if it's Td5 and that wire is green check fuse F15(interior fusebox) but i'm affraid the wire from F15 is burnt and this one goes to BCU too which will not activate the starter relay... if you are not familiar with electrics it will not be easy for you, as a bodge untill you get to an electrician take a feed with a wire from F15 and loin that interrupted wire which goes to the passenger side (cos there's the BCU)...meanwhile unplug the cigar lighter and isolate everything else there

Always a good idea to include the model of vehicle at the start of your thread then when u list again under Disco 2 we will know that this is incorrect.
